Clonmel

Originally an Anglo-Norman settlement, Clonmel was fortified in the 13th century.

Its many points of interest include the Tipperary South Riding County Museum, the Franciscan Friary, established in 1269, the Courthouse, built in 1802, the Wesleyan Chapel, designed by William Tinsley in 1843 and the medieval pattern of the attractive streets.

Clonmel Golf Club is a few kms from the town.

Clonmel is on both the Suir Valley and Comeragh Mountains Drives.
