Passage
East
An
ancient port closely associated with pivotal times in Irish history.
It
was here Strongbow came ashore in 1170 to consolidate the Anglo-Norman
foothold in Ireland, with Henry II landing in 1171.
It
is now a peaceful, charming fishing village in Waterford Harbour on the
East Waterford Gaultier Coast Drive.
Passage
East Car Ferry Company operates between the village and Ballyhack
in Co. Wexford, linking Passage to the Hook Penninsula, and Rosslare.
No reservations are necessary.
Mussel Festival
The
annual Waterford Estuary Mussel
Festival is held here every September.
The local Power Clan
Rally together every June.
